HOW TO CONTACT US
We're the only tutoring company in San Diego that publishes our tutors' phone numbers. When you call us, you're not talking to an office manager; you're talking to an expert.
Please contact the person you're most interested in working with. You'll find their location and rate in their tutoring bio.
We also have some resources we recommend on this page for graduate school application essays and college admissions consulting.
GRADUATE SCHOOL PERSONAL STATEMENTS
It's often difficult for graduate school applicants to stand out from the crowd.
Because other people applying to your program have probably done many if not most of the same things as you!
That's why it can be helpful to get some professional help writing your personal statement and/or statement of purpose.
Lauren is our personal statement / statement of purpose expert!
Lauren: I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Literature and Writing at Cal State San Marcos, and my Master’s Degree in English and Comparative Literature at San Diego State. I recently completed my first year of the PhD program in English at the University of California Riverside.
My passion for literature and writing began as a CSUSM undergraduate when I served as a research assistant and helped design a new course on the folklore and mythology in the Harry Potter series. I now serve as an English instructor for the University Writing Program at UCR. My current work as a PhD student focuses on the materiality of gender, sexuality, and identity in the punk subculture. I have been a writing consultant for over six years.
I love hanging out in San Diego during my downtime! My favorite activities are snorkeling and playing volleyball at the beach, cruising the fun hiking trails, and making my way through all of the local eateries. When I am not at the beach or in the classroom, I am usually napping and cuddling with my dog, Lego.
Lauren helps with graduate school personal statements / statements of purpose and charges $100 per hour or $450 for 5 hours.
She is based in both Carlsbad and Riverside and can also meet online.
If your kid is applying to college and wants more help than your busy high school counselor is able to give, it can be a great idea to work with a professional.
Our #1 recommendation is Passport Admissions.
Passport Admissions: Get the college admissions process right. Where you go to college matters, not because it's a lottery ticket to success, but because it's a formative period of your child's life as they transition into adulthood.
Passport Admissions has helped 1000+ San Diego families navigate the college admissions process. Our college experts have served on admissions committees or as alumni interviewers for competitive colleges. Every child is a little bit different, but we'll find the right message to help your child get through the application process. We work with students and families to:
- Develop a list of colleges that fit your child's profile and aspirations
- Make your child’s essays stand out
- Manage the stress, deadlines, and headaches of the admissions process so you can enjoy the final year of living at home
