10 Week SAT Study Plan

NEW! Want a customized SAT or ACT study plan tailored to your timeframe, strengths, and weaknesses? Check out our options here!
Welcome to our 10-week SAT study plan!
Why listen to us? We've been doing this for a very long time, and our successes and failures with students have taught us what works and what doesn't work.
Also, our plan is based on official SAT material and only uses workbooks written by veteran SAT tutors. It won't make you waste time with unrealistic big test-prep company questions, and you won't need to sign up for an expensive SAT course to use it.
Note: This page contains Amazon affiliate links and we earn a commission if you purchase things through them. However, any commission we earn comes at no additional cost to you, and you pay nothing extra. Our recommendations are based on deep experience with these resources, and we recommend them because they are helpful and useful, not because of the small commissions we receive if you choose to buy something.)
Best SAT Books For 2022
Note: We know it would be great if you just needed to buy one SAT book. But if you're serious about improving, you'll want to use a few different resources.
Official SAT Study Guide (#1 for practice)
Why buy: Contains 8 official SAT practice tests, which are worth their weight in gold. Other companies' practice questions and tests are really unrealistic.
The Complete Guide to SAT Reading (#1 for the Reading section)
Why buy: Erica Meltzer's SAT Reading book is the premier resource for this part of the test, and no one explains SAT Reading as well as she does. It's robust, but approachable (I feel like I'm describing a wine).
The Complete Guide to SAT Grammar (#1 for the Writing & Language Section)
Why buy: Erica's coverage of grammar and usage rules is far superior to that of any other company we've seen, and her practice questions are extremely realistic.
Pwn the SAT (#1 for the Math sections)
Why buy: Sharp, irreverent, and down-to-earth, Pwn the SAT is a great guide to the specific types of concepts and questions you'll find on the real SAT. It gets right to the kind of material students tend to need the most help with.
